The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the governorship of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said he would enable local content in public procurement in Lagos State if elected.

The former Commissioner for Establishment, Training and Pension in Lagos State stated that he is committed to supporting the ingenuity of many local talents and tested entities in the State through considerable patronage. He added that human capital development would be critical to the attainment of a greater Lagos.

Sanwo-Olu, speaking at a strategic engagement with top management and staff of consulting giant, Delloitte, also acknowledged that the private sector had a major role to play in a bid to making Lagos a 21st century state.

He further expressed his willingness to strengthen the relationship between the government and the private sector in the State to engender mutually beneficial gains and to promote shared prosperity.

"The private sector remains the engine of the economic growth of this state. So your organisation and reputable others will be part of our plan in making Lagos a 21st century economy. We have been engaging with many important stakeholders in our development agenda and we know that we will be leaving a huge gap behind if we fail to have this essential interaction with your organisation," he said.

"We are very impressed with the assemblage of talents from Lagos within this organisation, particularly the millennial brimming with great ideas. So let me share the good news that with this impressive composition of great human resources, our government will put tremendous efforts to enable local content in public procurement in Lagos State.

"We will make sure that the wonderful brains and good hands in our midst will be put to task and used to solve many of our problems in the state. We will not be going far away or spending so much money to hire people from far distance to bring solutions. So you should be rest assured that we will work together with you to make Lagos greater", he concluded.

The Chief Executive Officer, Delloitte, West Africa, Mr. Fatai Folarin assured the candidate of the readiness of his organization and his team to work with Sanwo-Olu in bringing some of the ideas of the candidate to reality, if elected.
